TC and Avid
Posted by Joe Biscotti on November 1, 2006 at 2:31 pmCan any version of Avid reconize TC on an Audio Channel. An example would be: Two or three DVX 100a’s and on CH 1 of each camera there is TC.

November 3, 2006 at 5:05 amYes. Current versions of MC and AXP have that ability. I forgot when this feature started, it’s been there a couple years at least.
What you do is select the master clipand go to Special>Read Audio Timecode.
Here you can select Ch.1 for the TC and assign it to an Auxiliary TC track.
Group your clips based on this auxiliary TC and start your multicam edit. -

November 3, 2006 at 5:38 pmRead Audio Timecode has been a feature since 1996… it dissapeared for a while due to some compile errors, but it is back in both Media Composer and Xpress Pro.
anything 24fps

November 8, 2006 at 10:43 pmTC is usually carried through your REMOTE CABLE. So as long as you have your TC button highlighted in the capture tool, it shouldn’t be a problem….otherwise you might as well be capturing wild…..Don’t forget OMF exports or AIF (depending on whay output yu need).
