  Taxing Avid/Errors

  We’re running Avid Newscutter Adrenline 6.1.6 on 2GB RAM on a 1TB Unity Drive. We’ve got the minimum specs for this version of Newscutter.

  What kind of errors would you expect to get when you really push the system?

  We’re getting some Run Time C++ errors, Out of Memory errors when we try to render and I think we’re just pushing our system to the limit. Some renders have disappeared then reappeared.

  We’ve got numerous layers with shadows, keys, alphas, glows, – a variety of effects, including Boris Red 3.1 Effects and BCC4.

  And, I’m trying to figure out if these are “normal” problems when pushing the systems. I think it might be time to upgrade the boxes but I need to make my case on spending the money…
