Has anyone ever managed to get broadcast quality by directly filming a Steenbeck screen? The film is 35mm and my camera is a DVX100A. Is it totally out of the question to do this? I’m working on a very low budget indie documentary.

Umm broadcast no. If you want it to look good you need to have the film properly telecined at a post house. It’s not really that expensive these days, 100/hour or less if you beg. Surely if you can afford to have a DVX you can afford a couple of hundred.
