Posted by Randy Johnson on February 6, 2009 at 4:02 pmIf I go tapeless is there a file converter program that will convert natvie HDV to a file I can use with my Intensity pro?

February 12, 2009 at 5:08 pmIf you capture tapeless with an Intensity Pro, why dont you record component in as Pro rez 422 or uncompressed 4.2.2 color space and bypass the HDV compression completley? I’ve been researching getting an Intensity Pro for just that reason. Bypassing the tape and the firewire you can record straight from the camera sensor chip to your hard drive. Hope this helps. If you do a comparison between HDV and this method I would love to see the resluts as I cant find anyone doing it yet. Danny Hays

February 12, 2009 at 6:29 pmI guess what im saying if I get a onboard HD like a FS-5 it will capture in native HDV. Can I just copy those files to my HD then import them into Premiere? Or do I need to convert them to something I can edit with the Intensity pro?
