April 27, 2005 at 4:36 pmNot sure what was “developed” for this workflow. Not to be an ass but there is nothing new or exciting about this workflow. People started editing natively in the DVCPRO HD codec the second apple supported it, and sending the final cut as an image sequence to do a color correction and a film out is standard practice if you want to maintain the highest quality.
Also, they didnt “need” to export an Uncompressed Tiff sequence to send off for Visual FX. They didnt gain anything from doing that, it was just one step the FX company didnt have to do themselves. Although it would have worked just as well in the original DVCPRO HD codec rendered out to 10bit or floating point.

You are right but I wanted to share it because I am just doing analysis and collecting the links about diverse HD work-flows that also can be used in a low cost HD video/film style production.
