Is there a program out there they my company could by that we can archive both field tapes and master tape so we can search by client for future productions. I know you can do it in excel or filemaker, but does anyone have another simple program to use. Could be pc or mac based.

I use Pipeline Digital Autolog. It’s hard to top and it works even better if you have Filemaker Pro 6 or better.

We have been logging tapes sucessfully for years with Imagine Products “WinTep” now “Tep X”. Check out their site. They do both Mac and Windows versions though we use the windows version to free up the Mac for editing. They also have more heavy duty database software to be able to perform searches and set up an archive but I am in Italy and they are in Indiana so for us the risk was too great with respect to investment required. We are “getting by” with a homemade Access database but are always shopping for something better and more professional.
    Good luck!
