I have been asked to make a DVD for the use of Visually Impaired people. I would like the DVD to be as accessable as possible. By that i mean, when a user is going donw the menus the they are spoken.

My question is, is this possible? To attach an audio file to a menu subject?

    Thanks for any help.

In DVD-Video, menus can only have a single audio track – buttons don’t offer any sounds, just highlight layers.

However, you could make a separate menu for every button, and link each button to its own menu with its own audio track, and use the Auto-Activate button property to switch to the next menu when the button is selected.

The limitations are linking everything up will be very tedious if you have more than just a few buttons, and if the DVD is played in a software DVD player and the user mouses over a button, it will not go to the linked menu unless the button is actually clicked.

If you can live with the limitations, this is the way to do it.
