I have a logo done in AI with a pencil brush stroke applied to it to give it a sketch look. I want to bring the paths into AE and animate them with Trim Paths so they appear to be drawn on.

Is this possible? I can’t get a Shape Layer to maintain the brush stroke from AI on the path.

My other thought is using just the normal path and adding a Roughen Edges effect but I haven’t done it yet. Anyone have any advice?

I don’t think there is a way to bring brush strokes across, however if you import it as a picture (Or comp with layers if the paths are quite close) you can use the normal paths above as a track matte to reveal the graphic below.

Only in after effects do children get to pick and whip their parents.
