I often travel to the client to screen at their mothership. In the past, this involved viewing from DVD or tape. These days, we’re editing in HD, but they’re screening room hasn’t caught up yet. They have an HDTV, but no decks.

So I’m looking for a way to get our offline (1080 DVCProHD) into their HDTV. In the past, I’ve lugged the macpro up there and gone HDMI out of my multibridge. But that’s far from ideal. I looked briefly at Apple TV, but there seems to be a 720 limit on that. The IoHD is overkill given the infrequency of the screenings. Same goes for the MXO.

Anyone know any other solutions? Best I’ve come up with so far is just DVI-HDMI out of a macbookPro and either Quicktime full screen or FCP Digital Cinema desktop preview.

Since you don’t want to spend money, this solution sounds the best.

Sounds like the Macbook Pro with DVI or DVI to HDMI out is the way to go. That’s how I would do it.
