Normally I shoot with my T2i @1080p24fps. However, I’ve shot a few clips at 720p60fps that I have interpreted at 24 fps. The effect works and the slow motion is fluid and gorgeous.

My question is how do I edit the footage originally shot at 24fps with the footage interpreted to 24fps from 60fps.

For example, I create a new project (“Project A”) and ignore the sequence settings page. I import my 60fps clip, interpret it to 24fps and drag it to “New Item.”

Then I create a new project (“Project B”), and under the sequence settings I select DSLR > 1080p24. When I import my footage shot @ 24fps and place it in the timeline, everything looks fine. However when I go to Project A, copy the slowed down clip and paste it into the timeline in Project B with the standard 24fps footage, the converted footage appears to be half-size in the viewer.

I checked the Motion settings and the clip is at 100% size. Basically what I have to do is blow the slowed footage up to 150% to match the frame of the 24fps footage (Which is fine and untouched).

Essentially, I’m wondering if there is a proper workflow of integrating footage shot natively @ 24fps with footage interpreted to 60fps.

    Help?

    Thanks!

When you have a 1920×1080 sequence and place 1280×720 footage on the timeline, it will look smaller…because it’s smaller.

You can either elect to use a 720p24 sequence and use the 720p footage at full frame and scale down the 1080 material, or you can work on a 1080 timeline and do what you did…scale the 720 footage up.
