  System Processor Usage

  Is it normal for AE 6.5 to hog 100% of the system processor, even when it’s not doing anything? I have just installed the software and am working on some tutorials – not very demanding stuff – but I noticed that the fan runs on high all the time, and if you look at the Windows Task Manager it shows AE at 100%. The only thing that makes it drop is if I am in AE and open certain windows, such as edit/preferences. If I am working on the timeline or even if I go to another application it stays firmly at 100%.

  What’s up with that?
