I’m getting this message while importing footage from P2 using the HVX to my Mac.
Final Cut Pro hangs. also using P2genie and P2 log. after the applications freeze,
I get a blue screen on the HVX with the error message “System Error P2 Micron Error” flashing in red.

Has anybody had this problem? Any recommendations?

    Thanks

I got the same message last night. I just bought my HVX, shot yesterday – everything worked great, but on transfer, the Error showed up. It eventually went away, but then I could only transfer a file or two before the whole thing would lock up.

This morning, everything has been working fine. I’m still testing, and trying to decide to go forward or send i back for a replacement. How long have you had your camera?

    Any other thoughts?

I’ve had the HVX for about 4 months, but it started giving me the message the last couple of weeks. and
it’s pretty much the same situation, i can only transfer only 1 clip then it goes into system error.
I’ve tried to look for some sort of solutions still haven’t found anything.
I’m gonna test it in G5 and a MacPro to see if i get the same error. before also considering calling Panasonic.

Trying to get some information from panasonic now. So far all they’ve said was to make sure the protect lock on the P2 card is off – duh, and try reformatting the card – once again, duh.

    Anyway. I’ll keep you posted.

I am running into a similar issue and have yet to find help. I have had the HVX since may 2007. Bought the P2 32gb card in February and it worked great for till this weekend. I was in field with my laptop and harddrive and copied the content files/last clip to the drive and 4 times the transfer cause the Mac Finder to get hung up upon transfer??? So I took the clip that is was getting caught up on and imported that clip through FCP (clip worked fine wrapped as a QT) and then deleted the clip in the camera and imported the rest of the clips out of the camera to my harddrive so I could reformat the card and continue shooting.
Situation was made worse when the last part of my shoot, the main interview (15mins in length) became the clip that would not import. I once again tried the FCP work around, (although I am editing in AVID and want the Original Contents folder!) but this time the interview is causing FCP to discontent with the camera on import with the camera reading P2 Micron System Error!!!! I need this clip and would like to find a way to avoid this in the future. I have seen this error before, but it came on the tail end of corrupted clips that I could set different In/out points to avoid in FCP, but I primarily use AVID on a team and cant switch back. Need HELP, if anyone knows anything to help me please respond.

Tried Mac Pro Quad Core Xeon 2.66GHrz and Mac Book Pro Dual Core 2 2.4GHZ… FCP5 and AVid Media Composer 3.0 and OSX Leapord…

    Thanks,
    Mike~
