Syntax for mov to mpeg4 or avi?
Hi,
Using FFMPEG 1.0.0.0 (although the d/l link said 0.6.1).
Just discovered FFMPEG and it seems like what I really need. I have just purchased a new camera which records in MOV format. I can’t use this on my devices so I’d like either AVI or MPEG4. I want the BEST output available. I have tried the FFE frontend and I’m able to convert to AVI but the quality is wrong. for example it will produce a 11Mb AVI from a 211Mb MOV. My MOV files are 720p and so is the output but the quality is not right.
I cannot get MOV -> MPEG4 to work at all. As said, my input is 720p MOV files and I want the best output available. What can I try?
(PS: Yes I read the faq and manual but the faq talks about options that aren’t in the manual, e.g. “tellis”).

Alright, found a preset that works with ffmpeg. WinFF with preset “MPEG-4 H.264 video (super high quality)”.
