  Syncing Timecode in FCP

  If the picture is being recorded at 23.98fps and the audio is being recorded at 29.97fps ndf can you use the Merge Clips function in FCP and select to synchronize the clips based on timecode? I know this is the proper way frame rates for an HD shoot but I’m still curious how exactly these two timecodes will correlate in FCP. Thanks, Ryan
