I am going to be shooting a multi-camera series on two HVX-200’s. Does anyone know if there is a way to sync the two of them together using some sort of sync cable so that they have identical time code? In the past we have started them manually and then used a hard slate to figure out to offset in post. We would love to get them closer if possible.

    Thanks in advance,

    Dave

It’s easier to sync them up with an audio tone or a flash.
You can I think run firewire to sync up TC. Look in the manual.

You can sync HVXs but they won’t be identical, just very very very close. Using a flash or clapper would be an even-more-accurate way, or shooting one camera’s LCD on the other cam (so that you have a direct comparison of any difference in timecode).

Get the most from your DVX camera. The DVX Book and DVX DVD are now available on ebay and at Amazon (https://www.fiftv.com/db)

Thanks Barry. We are going to start the time code in free-run with the remote so they both start at the same time. This is should be more accurate than pushing two buttons at the same time. We will then use a traditional hard slate so we can easily determine any off-set. We are trying to make it easy on the editor.
