  • Syncing audio with the Canon T1i, zoom H4n

I will be shooting a 20 minute short with a Canon T1i, editing with Premiere pro CS4, and recording audio separately hopefully with a zoom H4n.

Previously I had shot about a 3 minute short and recorded separately (with a mic and a small board going into audacity on a computer) and after 60 seconds or so the audio was out of sync.

I’ve read several threads regarding this issue
( https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/3/910342 , https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/200/884720 ), but just wondered if there was a way to preemptively head it off.

Does anybody know if there is a way to connect the T1i to an audio recorder like this one, or is it best to select a setting on the recorder which will match the frame rate of the T1i?

    Thanks in advance!

The first thing to check with your set up is that you have set the Zoom recorder to 48KHZ and yous cannot to 25 frames. If the settings are diferent this is why you could be out of sync.

You can connect sound directly to the camera with devices such as https://www.audio.co.uk/B2.htm
