  • Syncing audio with H.264/MPEG-4 codec

Posted by Charlie Foster on June 12, 2011 at 12:57 am

I am using Final Cut Pro 6.0.5. I have a video file from a Samsung SC-HMX10C HD Camcorder with a H.264/MPEG-4 codec, which I converted to Apple DVCPRO HD 720p60 with MPEG Streamclip. I need to sync this video file with a wav audio file from a ZOOM H4N recorder. Does the conversion through the video off enough so it wouldn’t be able to sync with the audio file? Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.

A conversion from 720p60 to 720p60 “should” not have any deleterious impact on sync.

Make certain your new project was begun with the proper 720p60 Easy Setup, because that has been shown recently to impact audio throughout projects no matter settings you might change for your audio afterward.

Perhaps you should try starting a brand new project, making certain to set the Easy Setup before doing anything else (i.e. don’t import anything beforehand).
