I have the audio tracks lined up (almost). I have one track that is at the beginning of a frame and the other is at the end of the same frame. Is there any way to nudge the tracks to match? when I move they jump a whole frame + or -? is it possible or am I expecting to much?

In the Menu under Options…uncheck Quantize to Frames.

Not in the preferences…in the MENU…across the top of the page. File, Edit, View, Insert, Tools, OPTIONS, Help. Click on OPTIONS, “Quantize to Frames” is the first option at the top.

You’re welcome. You might want to turn “Quantize to Frames” back on once you are finished tweaking.

Make that definitely turn “Quantize to Frames” back on once you’re finished tweaking or you leave yourself open to all kinds of grief.
Here’s one guy’s recent post about neglecting to make sure it was enabled.

Having that Off by mistake caused me much grief. Really bad outcomes with mixed progressive and interlaced footage. The “P” ended up a juddery mess, half my cuts blinked and even the interlaced footage in parts was a bit juddery.
Not so obvious on the LCD monitors while editing but once burned to DVD and played back on a CRT TV, yuck.

I do a lot of multi camera editing and have found that using a “jog wheel” type controller is much easier and more accurate than using a mouse when trying to sync audio tracks. The jog wheel allows you to go back and forth one frame at a time while listening for the echo effect to disappear. The controller I bought is called a “ShuttlePRO v2” by Contour Design. It is USB, has 15 programmable buttons and a variable speed spring-return wheel for forward and reverse. There are templates include that allows the controller to be pre-set with various Vegas Pro versions. B&H and Amazon sell these for about $80.
