  • Syncing audio cassette with video in FCP

I am helping out a friend who does video depositions. He did not capture audio to his DVD’s, but he did have audio on his audio cassette back-up. Now i’m stuck with DVD’s with no audio and audio cassettes. I captured the audio cassettes Using the mic imput and using “voice over” and I ripped the DVD’s. Now when I’m bringing both into FCP on a timeline. Any suggestions, everything I try isn’t working out? Thanks

This is going to be a long laborious task.

The audio cassettes will never hold sync with the video for more than a few seconds at a time.

Every time the sync gets “bad enough to notice,” you will need to add a cut in the audio track and slide that audio back into sync with the image.

Depending on how long the clips are, and how many you have to repair, this process could take anywhere from several hours, up to several days to complete.

Thanks thats what I figured I was just hoping that I had missed something. I have about 4 1/2 hours worth of audio to sync. Thanks for the reply.
