  • Syncing and replacing sound after finished editing? Is it possible?

    Hi there,

i know, always syncing before editing. But in this case i had to start editing before i received the “good” audio. I used the cams audio to edit. It is RED footage by the way.
Now that i got the good audio recordings, i’d like tu replace the bad audio recordings in my timeline (adobe premiere pro cc). But it did’nt work. It’s a mess. Does anybody know a workflow for that task?

    Thanks in advance.

This is a real PITA workaround but you could try it:

Take every shot from your sequence one by one and put them into a new sequence where they are in the order you shot them.
sync them with the good audio.
cut off the head and tail of the audio to match the clip length.
Match the clips with the originals on the original sequence one by one.

I’d guess if it were to work, it would re-arrange all your video clips since your audio clips will probably span so many of the video clips. That might not be worthwhile…

If you want to do this in PE4, I’ve found that you now must right click each track and make sure you enable it to change clip order. I suppose this might be worth the time assuming you have a lot that you cut out in the edit.

Please respond and share if you had success–I’m curious.
