This may have been discussed here before but I couldn’t find anything. I notice that when I synchronize clips the frame size changes from the original 1920×1080 that I shot to 1280×720. It also changes the frame rate from 29.97 to 23.98. I can change the entire project back to 1920×1080 in the properties menu but I can’t change the frame rate back to 29.97. This only happens with synchronized clips. The remaining clips don’t change.

I am curious why it changes. It doesn’t seem to have any effect during playback but it doesn’t make sense.

Yes, seems to be a bug.

    Hi David,

I remember this popping up a few weeks back.

Have a read here, others have had the same issue.

Seems synchronize function only works with 23.98

A “slight oversight” on apple’s behalf!!!

The way around it seems to be manually lining up your audio and video, make it into a compound clip and edit that into your timeline.

    Cheers,
