Has anyone else been having issues with the synchronize tool recently?

Since it was first put into Premiere it has been a godsend for syncing up camera rushes with seperately recorded audio. But suddenly it seems to have stopped working properly.

Either it says there is nothing to sync to – which is bizarre as the camera mic has good level for syncing and the footage is usually in an interview setting so very little back ground noise (if any at all) or it will shift either of the clips I am trying to sync way down the timeline. I’ve even seen something moved about 5 minutes down the timeline!

Consequently I’ve had to go back to syncing everything manually. And this morning one of our other editors has started experiencing the same issues.

We’re both on version 7.2.1 (4) of Premiere CC. Wondering if something has been bust in the latest update?

Not sure if the issues are related or even similar, but I often have to do it 2 or 3 times to get things to sync properly. Normally the first time doesn’t work at all, then the second attempt works but isn’t quite right and by the third attempt it’s spot on.

I’ve experienced the exact same thing. It will move one of the clips several minutes down the timeline. I ended up using PluralEyes in FCP7, exporting an XML of the sequence, and then importing the XML into Premiere.
