  Synching HVX & Sound Devices 744T

  Hello:

  Prepping a feature shot on P2 with the HVX200 and sound recorded on a Sound Devices 744T (WAV files). Wondering about the best workflow for synching the two recorders.

  We’re thinking that a Smart Slate with T/C from the 744T is probably the easiest thing, then I’ll synch visually in FCP 6, but is there any merit/workflow for putting the 744T’s T/C on an audio track on the HVX? And then (ideally) a way to auto-synch them in FCP? (I’ve heard about the AUX T/C plug-in for FCP, but not sure if this is needed…)

  Any real-world advice appreciated.
