I realize I will sound like I am a million years behind the times, but I am finally going to record audio on a hard disc recorder while shooting XDCam to edit on FCP7. How do I synch audio and video (beyond a slate of course)? is there a plugin or program I should be using?
    Thanks,
    David

Slate. Nothing beats it. Although you can get PluralEyes and have it do it for you. Slating and doing it by hand is free, however…

The most important thing I can tell you is to very carefully set the audio recording device to match the same sample rate the camera and codec you choose uses for the video’s audio.
