    Sync voice with lips

    Hi,

    I’m interested in putting video online. I realize that everyone recommends that a person should get a camcorder that allows an external mic hookup. Well I just can’t afford one, so I have a handycam that has no external mic plug. But I have a lavelier mic that I will use to record my speech while the handycam is recording my face and voice through its built-in mic.

    OK, so my question is this: if I learn how to use Sony Vegas will I be able to mute or delete the voice track that the handycam recorded, and then sync my personal mic track to my lips on the video?

    I would appreciate your help.

    Absolutly. A good way to sync the new audio with the video is to clap your hands at the beginning of the shoots with a few seconds between the clap and the action. The sharp spike in the audio waveform will make it very easy to line up the new wav to the one from the camera. Then just mute the audio track from the camera and then split the clap part out. Danny
