  • Sync Problems Capturing AJA IO HD box

I’m capturing some old VHS footage through an AJA IO HD box.

The footage is coming in completely out of sync . . . Any suggestions??

The sync seems to be slipping as the clip is played.
I put it in a sequence and shifted the audio and video 1:14 and it synched perfectly at the top of the clip . . . .but if i skipped to the end of the clip it was out of sync again.

I tried capturing with the “play back offset” in the “System settings” changed to 3 different settings . . . . first 1 then 0 then 4.

    Any Suggestions????

Open the Quicktime file and watch it in the Player. Is the quicktime file out of sync?

The Quicktimes have the same sync problems

Sounds like you need to recapture.

Perhaps your ioHD was setup incorrectly?

I can re-capture if necessary (no problem)

But unless I figure out the right settings the re-capture will have the same problem.

    My question is:
What is causing this problem so I can fix it for the re-capture????

I think it may be something in the “System Settings” like “frame offset”, but I’m not sure.

Does anyone have any idea on what to try

(the AJA IO?HD box is a piece of hardware . . .there’s not many settings on it . . . . however there is an “AJA control panel” application . . . . . does anyone have any suggestions for settings in the AJA control panel???? . . . . .would the AJA control panel even make any difference with synch??)
