    Hello,

I’m looking for the best possible way to make Youtube footage editable in FCP. I am currently converting to ProRes LT with setting based on source, and pass through audio. (Literally just dropping the ProRes setting on in compressor and pressing submit)

With one clip, when I render the audio on the timeline I get major audio drift. I checked the sample rates, and noticed the video was 44.1 while the timeline was 48. Bingo I thought, and changed the sequence settings, brought the clip in again, and rendered it, but I still got the drift. Any ideas?

It’s very possible that I will be spending A LOT of time editing with videos acquired from youtube in the future so I would be very appreciative of any advise or pointers both on fixing the specific problem above and in general what to look out for in terms of the properties of stuff coming in from youtube and how best to get it into an editable form.

    Thanks,
    Chris

So you are keeping an audio format not supported on FC.
Transcode the audio to PCM 48Khz. that’s what FC likes.

Hi Chris, what downloading programme are you using before transcoding to pro res? and would these pro res files be ok to project?

    Thanks, Cara
