Shot on DSLR (Rebel T2I) 23.98 fps and recorded audio on Zoom H4 MP3 format. The audio and video lose sync. I tried converting the video to 29.97, same result. Is there an easy trick or do I just have to re-adjust whenever it loses sync. Luckily the audio has gaps of silence so adjustments aren’t too painstaking.

    Thanks

First, convert the mp3 audio to Linear PCM, 48k, 16 or 24 bit. That’s the audio format FCP wants to see. Then follow Jeremy Garchow’s advice,

“First, delete the new mix out of FCP and your timeline. Set FCP up in a 23.98 easy setup, then quit FCP. Now reopen FCP and reimport your new mix. The file should be in sync.”
