  • sync failure – fcp 7, two prores clips

I had pretty good success with the trial version of PluralEyes, but since purchasing it, I can’t get a single clip to sync.

Sources are two prores quicktimes; one with audio from a pro mic in a vo booth, the other from a flipcam (also in the booth)shooting video from 3-4 feet away, using a camera mic. Good levels and no distortion on either track.

Both sources were converted to prores, 23.98, 16 bit, 48k, prior to importing into FCP 7. The audio-only track has had a video element added to it in FCP, exported, then reimported so that the clip would be seen as one by FCP.

One track is mono on two channels, centered; the other is mono on a single track.

    I tried, in order:

    – ‘no options’
    – try real hard
    – level audio
    – markers

Complete fail every time. No error messages, it just doesn’t sync the clips.

    Any ideas?
