    Hi,

We recently upgraded our Symphony to version 4.0.5 and have run into a strange bug that wasn’t there before.

Occasionally when digitizing material from our Srw5500 deck the SDI audio track assignments will get messed up, so basically jumbling up the order of the tracks, we’ll get audio from channel 7 off tape digitized as track 11 in the Avid for example. This has also occurred when we’re only pulling in 2 tracks. We checked the deck configuration and it clearly listed the Srw deck in the right framerate setup.

When this happens we simply re-start the app and cycle the Nitris box, the problem then vanishes.

We can monitor the deck audio output via our scope so it’s easy enough to see when the audio meters (scope & Avid) don’t line up on digitize.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

    Clem

    Clem,
This is an issue I saw on a lot of 3.5 Nitris based editors (both Symphony and DS). The 4.0.5 firmware is supposed to resolve the issue.

You could try following the instructions on this Avid KB article to reload the drivers and firmware:

Thanks Adam, I’ll give it a go this morning and see how things work over the next week.

    Much appreciated!
