I am ready to online a 1 hour show that was offlined on Avid Adrenaline. I have the project open in Symhony Nitris and things are in working order. Heres my question – I have 2 sequences – a seamless and a cut-to-clock. I have decomposed the seamless and began to ingest HD footage. Will the media from the decompose relink to the other sequence or can I force that? Any workflow hints, advice would be greatly appreciated. I don’t want to online both if the media is already in the system.

You know you can put both the “seamless” and the “cut-to-clock” sequences in the same bin, select them both and decompose….it will not double the footage you need to digitize and will make it easier next time.

I think you should be able to relink the “cut to clock” after the fact (as long as the necessary timecode for the shots is available), but in any areas where it differs from the other seq. you will have to digitize..but you knew that already.

Thanks for the help! I put both sequences in the same bin and decomposed. It worked like a charm. Also for a test – I separated the bins and decomposed one sequence and relinked the other using “highest quality” and source tape and timecode!

Now know for the future this wont be a problem at all.
