I’ve been using a simple graphic created in AE which has italic type. There is a slight alias crawl on the diagonal lines which when imported into the Symphony becomes exaggerated to the point that the “I”s look like spinning Twizzlers. It wasn’t just an NTSC artifact because it is visible on the computer monitor, and we tried every combination of import settings, field rendering settings, and finally output the graphic to tape thru final cut and digitized it into the Symphony and it still looked terrible. Then we digitized it into a Mac Composer and it looked fine. In fact every clip we had created by importing into the Symphony looked just fine when played (via Unity) on a Mac Composer or PC Express.

Here is the original graphic from AE- http://www.stormla.com/Sliding_Before.mov

Here is how it looks exported from the Symphony- http://www.stormla.com/Sliding_After.mov

The Symphony is ver.5.0.4. The same media file that created the “After” version plays back correctly on any other system, so it’s not an import problem. Is this a known issue? Has it been addressed in any updates?

I’ve had lots of problems with AE to Avid, importing never seems to sort things out, generally have gone to digibets from FCP and black magic only to play it in to the Avid. On the Adrenaline systems (not sure if this is relevant for symphony) check the video output settings on the bottom of the timeline (green square/ half yellow) should be all green.

    Any Use?
