Any news if this is now updated. I have version SxS_Device_Driver_v1045050.dmg and when installed, it does recognize the card and I can import it into FCP 7. However, every time I shut down, the system crashes. I’m on Mac OS 10.6.1 running FCP 7.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers!

No solution yet. I called Sony directly and they told me it’s the first time they heard about it. They filed a ticket for me. Not news yet. I followed up with them yesterday. Here is my lame workflow for now:

    1) Install driver, but don’t “restart” at the end of the installation (just leave the button alone).
    2) Insert SxS card into MBP, copy BPAV directory into the computer
    3) Run the uninstall for the driver.
    4) Click on the “restart” button.

If you follow this, you can install, copy the files over and uninstall all at once. Then when you restart the computer, it won’t crash.

It’s a pain, but for now, it works. Just carry the driver with you in your computer for every time you need to download the video files.

    Cheers!
