I have come to a point where I am comfortable with after effect(but not a pro). to take my skill to the next level, I have decided to learn maya. However I have heard that Nuke integrate with maya than AE and its node base is much better than after effect. My question is should I start learning Nuke and using maya with it instead of integrating maya with AE?

Programs are tools- what you can do with the tools depends on your training, knowledge and talent and in some extent on the programs limitations, although now a days lines do get blurred. The kind of tools you use depends also on the market you want to enter. So determine your further assignment interests, research the market to see what software is required, and then proceed with choosing the tools.
