    Hi everyone

I had started editing a project with sony Vegas 8 . As I had to import some quicktime files the audio was there, but the video was black. ! I couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t working as I remembered it was fine with Vegas 7. So I decided to reinstall Vegas 7 in order to be able to read the quicktime footage It worked ! but now I can’t open the project i had started with vegas 8 using vegas 7. so what should i do ? On the one hand i have the quicktime files and on the other the rest of the footage…huh?
I forgot to mention, i’ve uninstalled vegas 8 as I was ready to pull my hair out…

Vegas is not backwards compatible. In other words if you start a project in Vegas 8 it will no longer open in Vegas 7. Since I do not have Vegas 8 on my computer anymore, I am not sure why the Quicktime files are not working for you. As a workaround, maybe you can render the Quicktime files out into an avi file in Vegas 7 and then import that file into your Vegas 8 project.
