  Switching apps by clicking; stuck in Finder

  There’s this annoyance with OS X (running 10.5.6, but I’ve been seeing this for the past couple of years); if you switch from an app like FCP from the Finder or another app, and you do it by clicking on the app window, the window will come to the forefront, but the Menu Bar will still show that you are in the Finder. So you have to switch to FCP using Command-Tab to get it to switch for real. I thought it was just my install, but our new ProTools install is doing the same thing, on a brand new install of Leopard. Anyone know why, or how to fix this?
