Many years since using Multicam in Premiere, and I thought there was a function that enabled you to switch between Multicam angles with a single keystroke. I just need to know the name of that function, so I can map it onto my keyboard.

Of course, I could just be misremembering, and this is only an Avid function.

Does anyone know if this function exists in Premiere? Th only way I’m able to currently switch between Multicam angles is by double clicking the clip so it loads up in the viewer monitor, then selecting the alt angle with the mouse. It’s not terrible, would just be nice if I could get there with a single keystroke.

In OSX it’s the command key plus the number of the angle. So Command + 2 changes the clip to the 2nd angle of the multicam. If you hit the number alone, without the command modifier, it makes a cut to that angle at the cursor position. This can all be modified with Keyboard shortcuts.

    Awesome, thanks Herb!

    For anyone following:

The function is called ‘Select Camera [#]’. On my keyboard it is just mapped to the number keys, no need to hit the ‘command’ modifyer.

Still wondering if there’s a function that cycles through all camera angles instead of having to map each camera to a specific key… but probably not…

Hey there! Not sure if this is helpful in your case, but in Premiere Pro’s Keyboard Shortcuts panel, there are commands called “Select Next Camera” and “Select Previous Camera”. You just need to assign them to a key of your choice to make them functional. That might do exactly what you’re trying to achieve — cycling through all your camera angles without mapping each one individually.

    Hope that helps!

    Cheers 🙂

Grrr, I only just found this reply but that’s the function I was looking for! But now I’ve just locked the film! Next time 🙂
