  • switch a composition from rate back from 29.96 fps to 25fps

I just finished an animation the first part of it (its not totally finished yet)
I misunderstood my clients terms: he wanted a 25 fps comp
and I did everything in 29.96, of course when switch the comp back from 29.96 to 25 fps all keyframes
are not adjusted on the 25 fps. Is there a way to get this straight without doing the whole animation
again from scratch in a 25 fps comp?
    Thanks guys…

If there isn’t any footage, you can probably just get away with nesting your 29.97 comp in a 25fps comp. Heck, even if you have footage it might work.

The main problem with this approach is when you have precise masking going on (like for rotoscoping) — on certain frames AE will choose a value that is between two of your keyframes (since the frames from a 29.97 comp won’t line up precisely with a 25fps comp, likewise with keyframes), and that can cause troubles. But that’s certainly the easiest way to do it IMO: Nest, change frame rate, render. Check for errors.
