I’m a beginner in Cinema 4D, so please keep any replies as detailed as possible.

I have a spline with Sweep Nurbs using a ring with filet caps. What I’d like to do is apply a gradient material to this Sweep Nurbs that goes from the start to end seen from any angle. I also intend to animate the growth of it, so making it editable doesn’t seem like a good idea.

I have managed to do these things, the only thing missing is that the material doesn’t apply to the caps. This is the initial result I’m getting:

So I searched a bit and found that you could target the caps in the selection of the material. So I made one material for the start color and one for the end color, that gave me the result I wanted:

The only issue is when I animate the growth, It doesn’t follow along:

Of course I could keyframe the color of the material to match up, but there surely must be a better way of achieving this?

    Thanks in advance!
