    Hi

I am currently editing a video on Final Cut Pro 7. I have finished the edit but have had issues because the source videos were divx. Ive now converted the source videos to mov but the project timeline is still set out with the original divx videos. Is there an easy way to swap the .divx videos in the timeline with the new .mov versions?

Easy setup creates sequences settings for you. .MOV is just an extension. FCP likes codecs such as ProRes, DV. Codecs such as h.264 do not work well with FCP.

Open your mov files in QuickTime and check out the codec. It’s located under format.

Right-click on the files to be replaced and pick Reconnect Media. Select Locate and point the computer to the new Quicktime versions of the files.
