Swap AE Footage
I was working in AE, saved my current project as another name (sequencial save numbers), then continued creating in AE.
When I open up Premiere, how in the world can I easily swap the composition from AEprojectver1 to AEprojectver2?
Do I have to manually re-add all my AE comps because I’m doing sequential saving in AE?
It’s a royal pain to have to redo all my Premiere cross transitions. blah.

rename it back to the one you were using before it should all update happy. Of course the DL function can’t find the stuff it’s looking at the project based on its disk/location/name. Why are you using Incremental saves and then not save as at the end with the same name so the DL can work with it?

The solution to saving as you go along is not to “Save As” because that causes you to work in a new file name. The solution is to use “Save a Copy” instead. That gives you a backup, but keeps the current project’s name the same for use with Dynamic Link.
However, to answer the original question, it is simple. Just select the new dynamic link comp in the project bin, the select the dynamic link in the sequence. Right click on the comp in the sequence and choose “Replace with Clip” and “From Bin”.
Simple.
