I have been experiencing constant crashing of SVP 12 when I add a clip to the time line and then attempt to play the time line. Also if I add an effect to a clip or audio clip and then play the clip it crashes. If I save the file prior to playing I might not get a crash but that is also not a given. I have submitted to Sony all the crash reports. Any ideas here or similar situations? Mark

If you haven’t, try turning OFF GPU acceleration in the:

Options > Preferences > Video Tab.

It’s no solution, but points to the need for SCS to get this feature up to speed for more recent video cards. What is yours?

I’ll throw in that I just put a new machine together with a gtx 650ti which played XDCAM EX (mpeg2 hd) footage just fine, but crashes constantly playing graphics or h264 footage from dslr’s. Turning off GPU acceleration in the preview window “fixed” this problem but I assume actually fixing the problem is on Sony’s to do list.

Thanks for the info… Is turning off the GPU in the preview window the same as turning it off as an option? I talked with Sony today regarding this and we could not find the problem but we set up a ticket on this issue. I will report any findings. Mark
