SVP 11 Crash on Render
Ok so I had to do a W7 OS system re-install because the C drive croaked. Did a SSD for a boot / OS drive. Had to reinstall SVP… I was using 10 but couldn’t find the discs so I installed the SVP 11 set that I got but was leery because of all the stability issues I read about.
Soooo… I’m trying to render out a short 90 second project and it crashes before I can render. Nothing fancy mind you… simple transitions, grfx, ugh!! I keep getting a Sony Vegas window that refers me to SVP 11 Update (dated 2012) uh…when I originally installed SVP11, I was directed to the website to install the latest updates (that was about 2 weeks ago). So how is this relevant?
Is there something I needed to do with Windows 7? Do I need to disable anything for Vegas to work? It’s been awhile since I originally set this thing up so memory isn’t helping out. Any tweaks that I need to know about? 🙁
Any ideas would be appreciated!

The only thing i can recommend at this point is simply using any
other version apart from Vegas 11.
You had perfect right to be leery of Vegas 11 and its stability from
what you read, its exactly that!
If you dont have Vegas 12 or 13, go back to 10. You cant find the
disc so download the latest update from the site and retrieve your

I don’t do anything special in Windows to accomodate SVP. I went from SVP 10 to 12 so I have no experience with 11, and I am skipping 13 as well. To conserve space on the SSD (my first SSD was fairly small), I do install as much of my applications as I can on D: which is a normal hard drive. I cannot imagine that having any effect at all on how well SVP runs.

Thx for responses. I did do some tweaking in the SVP preferences and W7OS which has helped a lot. But I’m still having issues with the titler changing drop-shadow color in render and not rendering jpgs. Freaky stuff.
I’m hoping I can get a clean render from this short proj today and will be re-installing SVP10 today. Weird, weird stuff. 🙁

Weird indeed when it comes on to Vegas 11.

Core i7-5960X 3GHz; Nvidia GTX980, 16 gig RAM Win7 64bit.My Software:
Vegas Pro V11 with Boris Continuum Complete 8, VASST Ultimate S; Bluff Titler; AE5; PhotoPaint and other stuff. -
I believe GPU render was added with Vegas 11. You can try using just the CPU by selecting it if your rendering with a Sony AVC template. choose customize. at the bottom of the video tab is a drop down for encoding Mode. There’s where you can use CPU and or CPU.
