I’m using the latest build of VP11, updated my Nvidia card driver, deleted newer codecs, and I cannot render anything!

I am at my wits’ end and do not know what to do next. Naturally I have a project on my drive that I want to deliver to a client tomorrow! I bought Mercalli v2 stabilizer last week, that is the only software I have that is new, but I remember rendering a low res version of my project after installing it, so that might not be an issue, in any case, I deleted the codec pack that came with it. No positive results so far…

    So now what???

Would appreciate some ideas, VP11 had been running stable for weeks, now no so great.

    Cheers,

    Malcolm

Had you just done that nVidia update that came down the pike from Microsoft? That update is bad news … it broke some stuff on my Win7 Pro 64 bit box, such as the nVidia control panel. I backed out of it. However, I did the nVidia update and backout before I installed Vegas 11 for the 1st time earlier today.

If Vegas 11 was running stable for weeks for you, It would only
seem the issue is because you updated your Nvidia card driver.

The Nvidia driver had the same problem for me. Rolling it back might fix the problem.

I updated the card, after it was crashing, wanted to “make sure” I had the latest driver, hoping that would fix the issue, it did not.

I’ll look into the microsoft update, I usually keep the system current.

    Thanks’

TSK…Things are changing: Instead of software updates making
applications better, some are actually making them worse.

No, don’t use the MS update for the Nvidia drivers, they are bad. Go to the Nvida website, have it detect and update the driver. I had a similar problem with the MS one, was all OK after Nvidia updated it.

I am running the latest NVidia BETA drivers with my SVP 11 and can render. If you had chosen the Microsoft update recently, then you may need to select the advance option in the Nvidia Installer to perform a clean installation.

Just completed a “clean install” of the nivdia drivers, still crashing on render.

Running an i7 chip, 12 gigs of ram, a separate “render to” drive, system was stable a week ago, cannot think of what else to do. I also booted up with all start up programs off, tried to render and still crashed.

I went back to an earlier “restore point” and windows could not complete the restore, some cryptic error message, naturally zero help.

I have the latest update of VP11, I was working a week ago, I uninstalled it and reinstalled VP11, though I did not delete the reg key entries, I do not want o kill my computer! Would it help to uninstall all the Microsoft add ons that came with VP11? (virtual server sql and c++) and then install VP11 again? Can’t think of what else to do.

    Thank you for the help,

    Malcolm

These basic tasks should not be this complicated…..
