Support for Sony Formats
I’m working with the very latest DaVinci Resolve (16.3) and I’m attempting to edit some Sony Media.
The media report that they are ‘offline’. If fact DaVinci knows exactly where they are and will even play the sound.
The media are XAVCI 2840×2160 at 50 fps. I know that because I shot it that way and DaVinci reports that on the properties.
I had heard before that the free version of Resolve no longer supports HD and that you have to switch to UHD, I find that UHD does not work either.I checked with the supported media list and it does appear to support XAVCI, at least to read if not encode. Studio is required for encode but I am not trying to do that.

Is anyone having any better luck with Sony Media?Premiere does support this media so I’m not stuck

Are you using the free version or the Studio version? The free version does not support 10-bit H264 formats.

I have the free version. I am using 10 bit media. It is XAVCI which is a professional format, whereas H.264 is usually considered a delivery format although I could see how AVC might be considered descended from H.264.
I looked on the linked list and could spot a decode restriction here ☹

XAVC uses H264. You’ll need the studio version if you want to use those files.
