  • Support for AVC-intra 100 24pN???

On MC vers. 4.04 and trying to figure the best work flow for P2 footage shot in AVC-intra 100 24pN (23.976).

This will be a large project and I don’t want to link to virtual AMA folders but rather transcode to DNxHD for faster performance during the edit.

I’m guessing that Media Composer doesn’t support AVC-intra 100 24pN since there isn’t any project setting type designated on the chart found on page 23 of this pdf – https://www.avid.com/static/resources/documents/solutions/P2_AMA_WF_GUIDE.pdf

However, based on the chart, my assumption would be to select the 1080i/59.94 project type. I’m a bit stumped because MC is not letting me transcode any of the footage. Basically it’s not happy with my original footage being 23.976 and the project setting being 29.97.

Any ideas on how I can get this footage transcoded? I tried setting up a 1080/23.976 project but that doesn’t much like the AVC-intra footage.

    Michael,
Logically, I agree with you. That was the first setting I used but it did not work. I could not transcode the files to DNxHD.

But I probably did something wrong so I’ll try that again tomorrow.

    Thanks

    Shane,

What a difference a day makes!! Yesterday when I attempted to transcode the AVC-intra footage in a 1080p/23.976 Avid project. The video would transcrode minus the audio.

This morning, I started fresh. Created a new 1080p/23.976 project. Linked to an AMA volume. Selected one clip to test transcode and it worked fine. So…some bugs in the system maybe?
