Supermicro P4SCi – Does it work Luke?
Posted by Francisco Rubiales on August 24, 2005 at 3:58 amIt’s not the P4SCT certified by Blackmagic, but I think it’s very similar and it has 64 bit slots.
Does this mobo works for my Decklink Extreme for SD Windows?

The above mentioned motherboard appears to meet specifcation – however will the 8mb intergrated display display be enough ?
This board may be better for server applications.Andrew McLeod

August 24, 2005 at 7:36 pmI agree with Andrew. I tested a very similar Tyan board, the S5112G2NR which has onboard ATI Rage graphics.
This was a failure, I suspect due to the limitations of the Rage. I suspect unless a board has an AGP slot or PCIe-16 slot, results will be poor.
The board you mention does have 2 PCIe-1 slots, but I don’t think there are graphics cards made for 1 lane slots.

Richard

August 24, 2005 at 7:58 pmAndrew, Richard;
thanks a lot for your help.
You’re right, the graphics card is a potential problem.
I’ll have to keep looking for the P4SCT or P4SCT+II (hard to find in Mexico).
Thanks again.
Francisco.

I can endorse the P4SCT (SD only) – we have one working fine.

I’ll keep trying to find it. As you should know, it’s worth it.
