    Hi,

I would like to install a Decklink SDI (2008 rev G) in a 1U rackmount chassis for a specific application (SD only). My configuration is descibed below:
    – rackmount: SuperMicro SC512L fitted with PCIe x8 riser
    – motherboard: Supermicro X7SBL-LN2
    – CPU: intel E8500 3GHz S775
    – MEM: 2GB DDR2 800
    – HDD: WD caviar 250GB

Could you please tell me if the configuration seems good to you (especially the motherboard) ?
    Thank you.

    Best regards,

    Ronan

what graphics card will you use with this. What monitor will you use – you must use a
1920×1200 monitor. Are you using an ATI 4670 ?

    Hi Bob,

    Thanks for your answer.
There are two intel chipsets on the motherboard (intel 3200 & intel ICH9R that handle PCI_express) and a dedicated chipset (XGI Volari Z9s) for VGA support (up to 1600×1200).
We don’t want to use the decklink as primary video controller but only for SDTV video output.

    Thank you.

Haven’t you looked at the Blackmagic website ? You MUST use a monitor that displays 1920×1200 (like a 24″ LCD monitor), and you must use only certain specific graphics cards. I have tried recently using a Samsung 24″ LCD that had a max resolution of 1920×1080, and IT DID NOT WORK.

I suggest that you look at this, and stop assuming anything –

    Maurice,
as always you are correct, and I am an idiot. I owe you another beer (or something like that). Always reading too quickly, and responding without thinking.

    Thanks Maurice !
