just like in smallville, when clark goes super fast he leave’s a “trail” or an “image” of himself behind and everything else is frozen in time.. any idea how to make that effect? is it simply drawn frame by frame?

    Thanks,

The trail is made with a motion blur effect. It make ghost image … just adjust the parameter to leave only some image not 10 by frame. After affect and combustion can do that very easily.

so i guess the actor needs to be shot in front of a green screen to use the blur effect right ? or else the entire scene will be blurred..

sorry still learning these things that might seem to simple to everybody 🙂

    that depend…

If you shot your actor moving but nothing else move no need for bluescreen. Because what don’t move don’t get blur.

If you actor most move and other item also, you can do most masking. You mask what you don’t want to get blur. But your actor can’t pass in front or beying a item who also move… I fact he can but it will mean a lot of work to rotoscop it…

Other case you need a green screen…
