Is there a way to accomplish a super slomo effect in Vegas 8 such as the following? A basketball player runs, jumps up, slams the ball thru the hoop – at normal speed, and then via superslomo (frame by frame) video shows immediately after the slam? You get the superslomo after the slam effect.

When you stretch the normal speed video to max for slomo – I know you can generate the video and repeat several times, but not sure if this is the desired approach to get almost frame by frame slowmo effect.

That beautiful Super slow-mo you are looking for is not
    possible in vegas.
For that, your source footage would have had to be filmed
at a high frame-rate or otherwise, using Re-visionFX Twixtor
would be the closest thing….unfortunately for Vegas users,
its only available as a plugin for after effects and others.

You could of course use a velocity envelope on the clip + motion blur and see if it looks ok at all for your tastes.
